Thank you for your support!
Thank you to all of our generous community members that supported AXYS on Giving Tuesday!
Here's what AXYS was able to accomplish with your help in 2024
- Executive Director: We welcomed Sheryl Kelly as our new Executive Director. Sheryl is a parent to a son with 47,XXY, and brings us decades of legal expertise in working with nonprofit organizations.
- The GALAXY Registry: We helped launch this groundbreaking registry to gather crucial data on sex chromosome variations. This tool will accelerate research and improve understanding of sex chromosome variations, helping doctors and scientists develop better care options for those impacted.
- Travel Stipends for Clinic Visits: Thanks to your donations, we provided 15 travel stipends to families who needed assistance getting to clinics for specialized care. No one should face financial barriers to accessing the medical support they need, and your contributions made this possible.
- Lindsey Lind joined the AXYS Board of Directors as our new Treasurer and recently, Ginnie Cover returned to become our next Chair.
- Researchers at Geisinger College of Health Sciences have joined the ACRC (AXYS Clinic and Research Consortium).
With your support, here's what's in store for 2025:
- The 2025 AXYS Community Conference will be held from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, GA.
- AXYS will be working with a team from Children’s National Hospital to help develop a self-advocacy tool for youth with X and Y chromosome variations.
